WHY CLINICIANS CHOOSE PENROSE

A MODEL DESIGNED FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE

Clinical roles at Penrose are supported through two complementary lines of leadership.

Professional leadership

Each clinical discipline is supported by a GP or AHP Lead. They provide clinical oversight, professional guidance, and support with development, standards, and quality of care.

This ensures:

  • clear clinical governance
  • role-specific support
  • consistency across practices

Site-based leadership

Alongside professional leadership, clinicians are supported locally by a Site GP Lead. They focus on how care is delivered day to day within the practice, how teams work together, and how patients experience services.

This keeps leadership:

  • close to the work
  • grounded in local context
  • responsive to what’s happening on the ground
SUPPORT THAT PROTECTS CLINICAL TIME

Clinicians at Penrose are supported by centralised, professional operational and administrative teams built in as part of our workflows.

Their role is to take on the work that doesn’t require clinical expertise — helping protect clinical time and allowing clinicians to focus on where they add the most value to patient care.

The benefit here is practical: less friction in the working day and more time spent where clinical skills add the most value.

THE BENEFITS OF OPERATING AT SCALE

Penrose operates across multiple practices in South London, allowing for stronger clinical leadership, shared standards, and more consistent ways of working.

This scale allows us to invest in stronger clinical leadership, shared learning, resilience across teams, and access to expertise that would be difficult to sustain within a single practice, while keeping care local and relationships intact.

COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE

Clinicians are part of communities of practice with peers in similar roles across different practices.

These communities create space to share learning, discuss real challenges, and develop practice together. They help reduce isolation and support consistency, without losing focus on day-to-day clinical work.

WORKING IN BUSY SERVICES, WITH REAL SUPPORT

We work in high-demand NHS environments.
The work can be challenging, and the pace can be fast.

Support focuses on:

  • clear expectations
  • visible leadership
  • practical solutions rather than unnecessary process

We don’t over-promise.
We focus on what helps clinicians do their jobs safely and well.

IS PENROSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

We're likely to be a good fit if you:

  • value clear clinical leadership
  • want support that understands day-to-day practice
  • are comfortable working in a fast-paced primary care setting
We might not be the right fit if you’re looking for:
  • minimal structure
  • loose accountability
  • leadership that’s distant from delivery

We think openness matters and often invite our clinical hires to do an observed locum shift so we can see how you work and you can see how we work
